Review: Stila In The Light Eye Shadow Palette

I came upon this baby somewhat late last year while scouting for awesome stuff at Mecca Cosmetica's outlet in City Cross, Adelaide but I could not justify myself to buy one as it does not appear to catch my attention like any other palette such as Naked 3 or Too faced Chocolate Bar Palette.

Recently, one of my Adelaide Beauty Blogger Member (ABBM) who is a member of CRC MakeUp gave a shout out to everyone who has any desire to purchase stuff from that website and shipping can be shared among those who's keen to join the wagon! So, I told myself... "Hell yea! I am definitely gonna get that palette. It was heaps way cheaper than getting it in store!

Introducing Stila In The Light Eyeshadow Palette.  You can grab this baby over the counter at Mecca Cosmetica for AU$62.00 or online at www.beautybay.com for AU$38.20( with free shipping ).

Packaging:  It is light, compact & not bulky but it has a feeling of cupboard materials.  So, if you're  not a huge fan of cup board, you might want to skip this palette.  However, asides from the packaging... the shadows are GORRRRRGEOUSSSSS!!!!

A close-up look of the palette

This palette has 10 eye-shadows, arranged in 2 rows with combination of  mattes, shimmers & satins.  It also come with a full sized Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye liner in Damsel which is a matte dark brown color.  This palette is a perfect for those who love neutral for everyday look which can transformed into a night look.

Top part of the palette

Bare:  Matte
Kitten:  Shimmer
Bliss:  Matte
Sunset:  Satin
Sandstone:  Matte

 Lower part of the palette

Bubbly:  Shimmer
Gilded Gold:  Satin + Slight Shimmer
Luster:  Matte
Night Sky:  Satin
Ebony:  Matte

Color pigmentation:  Personally, all of the colors have great pigmentation.  It blends easily with minimal fall outs such as kitten, bubbly & luster. All of the matte shadows have good color pay off except for ebony.  Ebony can be tricky upon application.  You have to work a bit with ebony but once it blends with other shadows, it turns beautifully.

Longevity:  I thought the Shimmer eye-shadows would be the one to fade out but to my surprise, the mattes  are the one losing its vibrancy throughout the day.  However, Stila mentioned that all eye-shadows can be used on dry or wet brushes.  I did try using the matte shadows on wet brushes and I was astonished by the results.  Upon application on a wet brush, the shadow stays put throughout the day.  If you find that its a hassle to use it with a wet brush, I suggest to pack on more wherever needed.

Worth the money?:  It is worth your money to have it in your collection for their pigmentation & neutral colors.  Also, it is a good palette for travelling because of the color combos of shimmer, satin & matte.  8/10
